This page of the photo gallery contains pictures of the second phase of construction at our Worthington, MN wind farm. This most recent expansion project will add two additional wind turbines.

 

The RiverWinds Worthington project is located 2 miles west of Worthington, MN . The first phase of the project was officially completed on July 12, 2002 and four wind turbines are currently producing green power for our numerous subscribers.

56. 10/21/03 - Excavation for the placement of foundation forms for turbines #5 & #6

57. 10/21/03 - Sites #5 and #6 are being constructed just south of turbines #2 & #3

58. 10/21/03 - Large tubular forms are used to form the foundation.

59. 10/21/03 - Installing the forms

60. 10/21/03 - First (outside) form is in place

61. 10/21/03 - Forms installed.

62. 11/21/03 - Construction of units 5 & 6 begins

Second section of tower is lifted into place.

The rotor assembly is hoisted into position. With good weather and skill of the construction crew, raising and mounting of the rotor blades can be completed in approximately 15 minutes.
